A Wall Street Journal headline declared "Chrysler's Sales Soar." The Detroit News described Chrysler Group's 45 percent November sales gain as a "whopping" improvement, and USA Today called the in-crease "breathtaking."
Of all automakers, Chrysler's surge in 2011 has been the most profound, with big gains coming across the board on its models, the report said. November's gain comes against a relatively weak November of 2010, but nonetheless, a 45 percent increase is substantial and keeps Chrysler above the 100,000-a-month level, the Wall Street Journal said.
"Chrysler's new product lineup introduced this year has done phenomenally well," Jesse Toprak, an analyst for Santa Monica, Calif.based TrueCar.com, told Bloomberg News. "The 200 and the entire Jeep® lineup are some of the best retail successes this year by any domestic automaker."
USA Today called Chrysler Group's November sales jump as "breathtaking." Chrysler brand's new models, the full-size 300 sedan and the smaller 200, helped nearly double the brand's tally compared to the same month last year, USA Today said.
The Jeep brand continued its "rocket-like sales gains," too, posting an increase of 50 percent, its best November since 2003 and the 19th consecutive month of year-over-year increases, USA Today said. Jeep's iconic Wrangler, propelled by updated designs and new drive-trains, jumped 41 percent, the newspaper said.
"With sales up 45 percent, November was another huge month for the Chrysler Group and our highest year-over-year sales gain of 2011," said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales, the Detroit News reported.
