Chrysler has re-engineered the 300, a key ingredient in what Men's Journal describes as the automaker's "reinvention."
Men's Journal notes the 300 is burdened with delivering a much needed smash hit for the company and Culture Map says that new products like the 300 indicate that "Chrysler's renaissance is the comeback we've been waiting for."
FamilyCarGuide.com says the redesigned 2011 Chrysler 300 is more "mature" and that it has been improved in almost every way over its predecessor. The Culture Map reviewer said the 300 test cars' price tag of $34,000 was "comparable to a competitor in its class, the new Ford Taurus. But nothing directly competes because a rear-wheel drive, modern full-size car is a rarity. (The 300 is) more stylish than a Toyota Avalon and a better value than the Acura TL or Lexus ES350."
"The 300's appetite for corners belies its size," Men's Journal said. "Cars that drag themselves around by the front wheels just don't have this kind of poise."
Culture Map notes that the 300's exterior design is "less brash" than the prior model's as the 2011 version has a sleeker and more refined look. Men's Journal also said it's obvious the automaker devoted some resources to creating a more cohesive package with upscale materials.
