Mopar® '11 Charger makes news

The Motor Trend staff recently added a 2011 Mopar® Charger to their test fleet, noting the limited edition model is "gifted with Mopar bits to make it perform better on the track, while still being completely drivable on the street."

The Mopar Charger is based off a stock Dodge Charger R/T and retains the 370 hp 5.7-liter HEMI® engine, Motor Trend said. Mopar performance upgrades include thicker front and rear sway bars, addition of a front and rear strut tower brace and a shorter final drive ratio, the story said.

Changing the final drive ratio to 3.91 from the stock Charger's 3.06 "allows the Charger to hustle to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds," Motor Trend reported.

Other changes include unique "Pitch Black" paint with a Mopar Blue stripe on the driver's side, the story said. The car also sports Pitch Black 20-inch Envy wheels. On the inside, the car gets a unique pistol grip shifter and blue trim accents, Motor Trend said.

Mopar is building just 1500 of the $39,750 Mopar Chargers in a limited production run, the story said.
